Ventsi Kolev

The best Bulgarian designer Ventsi Kolev designs and produces in Bulgaria automated robotic systems mainly for the Netherlands. On the 24^th May we celebrate the creation of the fonts Glagolitsa :-)) and Kirilitsa, I will draw attention therefore to the comparability between words and experience. Design means a drawing and a construction. Taught not only separately, but even in different universities in Bulgaria.

A poem of Radoy Ralin was tackling the subject, commenting the ceaseless repression of Bulgarian education, suggesting the idea Ministry of Education to be split in – Department Reading in Sofia and Department Writing in Plovdiv.

After these clarifications I now turn to Ventsi, to whom I showed with a triumphant look the Flying bird by Festo.

-         -      All right, Ventsi said disappointed with my frivolity – we were neighboring stands at the last

exposition. Not bad – he encouraged me. Jesus! Not bad. That is the spirit of design himself. 

That is not everything…. that is not even the beginning…
