ArtEstate. A collection of lithographies.

Even in my wildest dreams I have never imagined that one day I will be able not only to admire at museums, but also to include in my project works by authors like Salvador Dali, Max Ernst, Francis Picabia, Marc Chagall, Picasso, Calder, Henri Matisse, Fernand Léger ... and that I will purchase from as far as the States a piece of Papazov. Well here it is. Followed by Dali and the rest.

The roots of Europe and Trump’s choice

This was my first time in Athens. My friend Georgius Prusalis, who arranged  our first exhibition beyond the Iron Curtain, was taking us sightseeing around the city with my teacher Lyubo Prahov. There was the exhibition, it was evaluated as the best sculpture exhibition for the last decade, which made me experience a culture shock. I knew it wel, that I inhabit a social and cultural ghetto of Europe and I wanted to exchange ideas in the free (according to  my views at the time) world. To be the best, meant to bear a basic error. We were wrestling with the services for seven years (for an exhibition as it seems to me now) and ...what a shock! They apologized to us for TV reports in prime time news would be overshadowed by the arrival of the foreign minister of England. Melina Mercouri, Minister of Culture at the time, requested to buy four works of mine from the exhibition and I experienced front collision with my ideas for normal andfor civilization. I had in my pocket the invitation to the Salzburg Academy and Künstlerhaus, I had the recommendations and support of the great Karl Prantl, who promoted me as a star coming from Eastern Europe and I had to decide – to tear the rope and launch into space or go home in the sheep-pen, cradled by the services, at that level I had broken through after seven years of adventure ... I take off and leave in Bulgaria my family,  my friends .... you know. Much later I realized that your true friends are those who stand beside you because you share common values, not those with which you were born.

A spring morning, we pant while climbing up the stairs to the Parthenon. The staircase climbs a hill on the first landing, turns right and rushes to the cherished architectural image familiar to us from the primers and the Renaissance gables. The landing abuts a large marble rock where thousands of years ago steps were carved, time-worn already into a polished round furrow by the footsteps of those who had climbed the rock to something more important than the parade towering temple. We followed the same Road and not the official one. We climbed the furrow and found ourselves on the leveled and also polished by walking, more than two acres of marble rock overhanging a large plain.

- That is Agora - said George. And below is the market place.

- And why so many people have climbed hither, and have polished the rock with their steps?

- The ones who climbed here were those who wanted to share ideas and to argue with opponents, and below market visitors were crowding to listen.

Shakespeare’s Theatre was situated at the market square as well.

I was speechless. It was from here they had insights, have disclosed and spread visions and misbeliefs, we still follow. So the foundation consists in sharing of views, the foundation having formed functions and aspirations that we know through visualizations of our material environment. The second, but inseparable prerequisite in the process that formed our civilization is that it happened at the place of exchange of  already materialized values – the city market. Here creators of ideas and goods congregated to evaluate them and to exchange.

Soros teacher, in his speech in front of the Deutsche Bank, tells how a wealthy Athenian of the time, had the idea to record the speeches of philosophers coming from all over world and organized the scriptorium (the first publisher of manually copied books). Copies were sold and thus thesis and ideas described in the books were distributed. Collectors of copies appeared and created libraries. (Centuries later my beloved Montaigne says with pride he possesses over 50 books, but that he actually needs only 12. And he enlists them.) So, the practice money to be markers for the current exchange cost of values ​​and knowledge arises at the Agora.

The functional linking of E-Bay and Pay Pall follows the same pattern.

This is Europe - free exchange of freely created and freely distributed and shared values.

At the end of World War II (in which our grandfathers the weapon in hand were trying to impose on the rest of the world their views on the purpose and meaning of life) as a result of the victory of the Anglo-Saxon model two global structures were formed: manufacturers and bankers. In 1973 financiers taking advantage from the shock in oil markets impaired the business of manufacturers, bought up entrepreneurs’ marks and created the global village, where more and more elaborate from financial engineering fictions are sold. They brought up political representation whose professional administrators redistributed assets of the middle class and of the entrepreneurs on inert but politicised for the purpose crowds. The effect for the US is that the state administration now controls almost 50% of GDP, while at the time of the rising Hippie culture - in 1964, the State Administration distributed only 17%.

These practices, as we know, start with the idea to take from those who might and to give to those who do not. Practices to reallocate assets recurrently and during controlled crisis are not Bulgarian trade mark.

Trump however spoiled their business. He got his fingers burnt with his investments coinciding with the onset of the global political (fancy called banking crisis) and now has to make up for it. His business partner in property sales Kiosaki elucidated, that the true owner of his assets (through policies and regulations) is actually the government – not he. Well, that was a good one. Now it is the entrepreneurs’ turn. That is what Trump’s choice suggests me.

Who knows? We are also part of the choice. For us he is the right answer to the question: what do we want, you and I - European Germany and / or Russia or German Europe and / or Russia.

My choice is very simple. here it is

BYALA ARTESTATE. Our True Nature.

ARTESTATE project is an act of contemporary art. Its concept is already a term. The message True Art for True Home is the shortest description of the concept. I managed to make it happen and at the same time to organize its world premiere at the largest and most prestigious luxury property market in the world, at the beginning of this year. In my consideration 20th century functionalism and materialism made us ignore the natural and essential need for creativity and art in the home, without which man is not complete. The place of art is in the home, not in the gallery. Home itself is an expression of our culture. Our standard for adequate home assigns a separate space for each basic need – a living room, a bedroom, a bathroom, a closet, but rarely do we have a library and never a dedicated gallery space. We use art to decorate the premises without emphasizing the fundamental importance of the creative act brought into our lives, and for that reason we take art rather as entertainment and leisure, not every moment in life as a creative act and spiritual practice.

The goal of my ARTESTATE project is to restore this natural condition and need. I found in Byala appropriate housing space and fantastic view right on the beach. The long and spacious hallway resembles a gallery and is suitable for exhibiting high-quality art. I have selected a collection of famous Bulgarian artists, presented in our national as well as in city galleries and private collections. I organized an exposition and exhibited photos of art and home on the site of the biggest and most prestigious luxury property review in the world – A COMPREHENSIVE VISUAL OBJECT. I named this act ARTESTATE.

I wish this new word in English to be used as a term. I used it publicly for the first time in the project description. ARTESTATE combines our everyday occupancy of the house, as well as all the functions of the gallery - search for works and collections, a party for the new exhibition, sharing with collaborators and friends, everything which is art, sharing and exchange of values. ARTESTATE is not only your home, it also your Open Studio.

The world premiere of the project took place in two stages. I am an artist, and Who's Who in Luxury Real Estate, edition of Forbes and Luxury, as the title shows, do not let anyone. This is a market of the brand, style and culture, and not a market of the square meter price. There are no Bulgarian real estate companies there. With Charlotte Guigli, Senior Manager, Global Business Development, we came to the common belief, that art art connoisseurs and buyers of luxury properties are the same people. They form the values ​​on the market and the word she used for our common work was synergy. I needed support for the development of the project, I had negotiations ahead of me and John Brian Losh, Chairman / Publisher of the company and the edition, offered me partnership. I cannot emphasise enough the support I got.

ARTESTATE was already within reach, but the second and key point was the support of the biggest in the art market. Аt this stage my creation was just a link. The link in Who's Who. I wanted to present this link at  ARTEXPO New York. It had nothing to do with art notions. However, it had a price – USD 1 000 000, and it was in the Forbes and Luxury edition. I sent it. I have never had before such touching correspondence with fantastic professionals as the managers of the largest media group in the world of art RMG, I never thought that I would ever work with them. I will present BYALA ARTESTATE in Who's Who in Luxury Real Estate, as well as at the appropriate ArtExpo of RMG. Once this stage in the project completed, I will share with you.  Home visualizes and shapes the limits of our human nature. Our private space articulates our place in natural and social environment, without keeping us apart from them, gives them an image, associates them and is an organic expression of our interaction with and within them. BYALA ARTESTATE is distinct in fantastic natural environment and is inseparable in terms of perceptions and living within it. Kara Dere is the most exciting wild natural environment, forests and beaches on the northern coast and while strolling you can enjoy the unique geology of White Rocks formed in four geologic periods, and experience them as a fantastic spot to dive in the sapphire limpid waters. Light a fire wherever you want. Then clean everything. The place must be kept authentic even after 2000 years. You stand here 2000 years after the first inhabitants of the town of Byala. Take a look – it is beautiful, clean and true. Take your smartphone with you. Into the Wild, a step away from your home, you have first-class communications. And they are already integrated in our nature.

Make new exhibitions, select new collections, share with friends and on the net your new searches and moods. In the first February project, Art appeared as a collection of paintings typical of the second half of last century in Bulgaria. In the current project, I want to involve a wider range of value space and I am preparing a presentation of the Paris School masters of lithography - Salvador Dali, Marc Chagall, Fernand Léger, Pablo Picasso ... I wish BYALA ARTESTATE art to be an integral part of natural processes in our civilization.

Who's Who in Luxury Real Estate

For the second time this year, I will be in Forbes and Luxury Real Estate edition. The world premiere of my project ARTESTATE will be presented there again. I am still working. I'll show it to you when ready. I consider the invitation I received again from CHARLOTTE GUIGLI, Senior Manager, Global Business Development is a recognition not just for me, but for art and for Bulgaria.

Grande amore

"In big love only the moon is free" says a famous film actress. She has a lot more experience than me. The situation is similar in sculpture park projects. That is the reason I have not written for a while. I finance the project myself and with the support of a few friends, so I should make money for membership and exhibitions.

As regards Varna Municipality, I will tell you a secret - the annual budget of the municipality for sculpture is BGN 15,000. The budget of  Sculpture Park Varna Foundation for international professional membership  is a similar figure, but in dollars. Tomorrow I will pay the first contribution. It is a great opportunity. A matter of priorities.

How did municipal authorities apply for European Capital of Culture I really do not know. There is this kind of courage which is just ignorance.

And remember the meaning of the words we use. Evaluation, evaluated artist evaluated work, idea ... BGN 15 000 annual budget is the sculpture evaluation. An assessment of ourselves ... of our need of art. Of our professional horizon.

Professional career in art is possible only within this regulated exchange of values ​​and ideas that we commonly call Art Market. Evaluation is performed in free professional exchange – the Artist is assessed, the Work is assessed, the Ideas  are assesed. The exchange takes place in this explicitly or implicitly regulated basis of shared basic values. The base of this assessment, which forms the possibility of existence and which enables professional realization, includes three main components:

-literate audience;

-professional critics;

-organizational platform with a clear public regulation;

This organizational form, where external to the professional community institutions impose regulations and criteria ignores two of the basic components – appraisers and critics evaluating the ideas, the quality and the type of exchange. The target can be enlightenment or propaganda, depending on the orientation, quality and regulation methods. However, this is no longer exchange or market.

There is no professional market for art and sculpture in Bulgaria. There are many places in the world without such. As I have written,  the annual market volume of Contemporary Art in France, for the last year, is less than the turnover, which only one artist made at NY market. So the artist in France already lives in pink clouds.

Professional market can not be induced by external and non-professional institutions without complying with creators’ professional values. It can and should help, however. Professional administration’s primordial role is to ensure reproduction and sustainability in time for the successful community models.

So our issue now is not what municipality and state can provide us with, but what state and municipalities we want to create. Now, because it is still Sunday, I will make you happy with:
